Solutions Architect – Holistic Technical Leadership across SN Digital We are seeking a Solutions Architect to work closely with our engineering leadership, product teams, and stakeholders to address cross‐cutting concerns, build shared capabilities, and grow the architecture practice within SN Digital (SND). About the Role You will work with SND and engineering leadership to map existing architecture, analyze current capability gaps, and create a vision for solutions architecture and a plan to get there. You will support the establishment of technical standards and ways of working, and be a primary force in their implementation and evolution. You will collaborate with colleagues across multiple locations and with diverse backgrounds to deliver sustainable and innovative solutions that satisfy the needs of business and customers. You will report to the VP Digital Delivery (SND). What You Will Be Doing 3 Months Work in collaboration with SND, engineering leadership, and key business stakeholders to gain an understanding of the current landscape. Understand SN Technology organisational structure and where SN Digital sits. Understand key business stakeholders and their product and business direction. Build a high‐level knowledge of business domains and products with existing technical architects. Identify the most critical areas for attention. Understand strategic and tactical context with SND leadership. 3–6 Months Engage with critical areas needing architectural guidance. Build relationships with technical functions such as the AI Centre for Enablement and Project Data. Collaborate with researchers and experience strategists to incorporate customer needs. Communicate architectural matters to non‐technical stakeholders. Provide technical and architectural support to product and business stakeholders. Influence and provide leadership in architecture within SND. Promote and support technical strategy to evolve architecture. Advocate and enforce cross‐functional requirements (GDPR, Security, Operability). Establish a documentation culture for architectural concerns. 6–12 Months Become a recognised leader for solutions architecture within SND. Establish a roadmap for building the architecture practice. Maintain high‐level knowledge and regular contact with all business domains. Actively participate in company‐wide architectural forum. Day‐to‐Day Responsibilities Actively participate in group ceremonies and the company‐wide architecture community. Foster a safe and collaborative technical community, growing knowledge and cultivating knowledge sharing. Seek opportunities for improvement in software delivery methods. Continuously review technical options with other technical leaders. Support teams with solution design documentation. Clarify technical requirements and opportunities, provide architectural expertise and unblock issues. Build integration patterns for solutions crossing business boundaries. Engage the enterprise architecture team on patterns, principles and technology selection. Prioritise tasks towards immediate needs while aligning with the strategic vision. Communicate and enforce architectural principles and requirements. Advocate cross‐functional requirements (GDPR, Security, Operability). Support architectural changes planning and rollout. Mentor and support technical leaders. Encourage collaboration between disciplines, product teams and stakeholders. Ensure leadership has an overview of the architectural space. About You Experience in software development and knowledge of software and system architecture. Proactive, able to work autonomously to investigate and solve problems. Enjoy mentoring and supporting others, and growing an engineering community. Collaborative, optimising for team over individual success. Passionate about delighting users and championing them in solutions. View failure as a learning opportunity. Experience with every stage of the software development lifecycle. Worked in an agile environment with shared code and production ownership. Comfortable with pair programming, trunk‐based development, CI/CD. Experience partnering with stakeholders and non‐developers to create solutions. Comfortable with remote working practices and engaging remote colleagues. Good command of English.
