PURPOSE OF ROLE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a detail-oriented, highly organized, and motivated Junior Accounting Analyst to support Amazônia Bio's financial reporting and statutory accounting operations. Focusing strictly on core accounting practices, this role ensures our financial records, general ledger, and tax compliance accurately reflect our fast-growing global bioeconomy trade. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high analytical precision, strong problem-solving skills, and a desire to thrive in an energetic, fun, and diverse workplace while driving ethical and sustainable growth in the Amazon region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- General Ledger & Journal Entries: Perform day-to-day accounting entries, classify transactions, and maintain accurate general ledger accounts in strict accordance with accounting standards.

- Tax & Fiscal Compliance: Review incoming and outgoing invoices (notas fiscais), verify tax withholdings, and assemble documentation for local tax filings and ancillary obligations.

- Month-End & Year-End Closing: Assist senior finance leadership in monthly ledger reconciliations, trial balance analyses, and the preparation of core financial statements (Balance Sheet, DRE).

- Export Accounting Records: Organize, reconcile, and archive foreign trade accounting records, customs documentation, and exchange contract records to ensure full audit readiness.

- Fixed Assets & Inventory Accounting: Help track fixed assets, maintain depreciation schedules, and reconcile inventory balances.

- Audit Support & Workpapers: Prepare supporting documentation, schedules, and workpapers for internal reviews and external accounting audits.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

- Education: Bachelor’s degree (completed or in final years) in Accounting.

- Experience: 1–2 years of hands-on accounting experience or relevant accounting internships (focused on ledger entries, reconciliations, or tax compliance).

- Language Skills: Fluent level of Portuguese and English (both written and oral) is essential to handle international trade documentation.

- Accounting Principles: Solid understanding of BR GAAP / CPCs, chart of accounts, debit/credit mechanics, and basic fiscal/tax legislation.

- Tools & AI Interest: Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis) and a demonstrated interest in using AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to streamline accounting workflows and data processing.

- ERP Knowledge: Experience with ERP systems (knowledge of Odoo, TOTVS, or SAP is a plus).

- Trade Finance / Import & Export: Basic understanding of international trade accounting or trade finance is a strong plus.
