1. In its meeting, on January 28, 2021, the Board of Directors of Instituto de Telecomunicações decided to open an international call to select one candidate researcher in the scientific scope of the project “STEROID - Plataforma de Verificação e Validação de Componentes de Suporte à Condução Autónoma para Veículos Inteligentes do Futuro”, under the scope of an indefinite term working contract, overseen by the legal Work Code. Job description:

• Design, development and installation of the intelligent and cooperative mobility testbed, including the definition, planning and implementation of a communications and sensing infrastructure, in order to include elements in a real environment ready to interact with the test platform according to a hybrid validation approach. This infrastructure will integrate RSUs communication units, as well as OBUs in the vehicles to be tested. Road sensors, such as traffic cameras, cameras, etc., will also be installed, both in urban environments and on motorways, in order to provide additional information on the environment of virtual autonomous vehicles.
• Integration of driving and network simulators to extend vehicle control and perception agents with V2X communication agents; and enable the description of diverse and complex test scenarios.
• Contribution to the activities of research, integration and demonstration of results with the project partner, guaranteeing the deliverables and milestones, conducting the associated tasks and activities and communicating with the project's evaluation and monitoring bodies;
• Representation of the Instituto de Telecomunicações and conduction of the project management activities, ensuring the project’s global execution;
• Results dissemination through scientific works publication in conferences and magazines or journals, as well as participation in the elaboration of presentation and demonstration events to the public.

Benefits

The monthly remuneration to be attributed corresponds to the position of Assistant Researcher with the remuneration of 3.201,40 Euros.

Eligibility criteria

Doctorate degree in Informatics, Electrotechnical and Computer Engineering.

Selection process

According to article 5 of RJEC, selection is to be made based on the candidate’s scientific and curricular evaluation.

Each panel member score is obtained attributing a weighing factor of 90% to the classification given to the evaluation of the curriculum vitae and other documentation, and a weighing factor of 10% to the classification given to the presentation.
