We're looking for a Junior Azure CloudOps Engineer to join our team and grow with us in the world of Azure cloud operations. Our team is focused on the provisioning and management of cloud services hosted on Microsoft Azure. As part of it, you will support service operations, monitoring, and continuous improvement of a hub-and-spoke cloud architecture, contributing to service continuity, security compliance, and performance scalability. This role is designed for early-career professionals or recent graduates who have foundational knowledge in cloud technologies, AI and DevOps practices, and a strong eagerness to learn and develop in a collaborative environment. Beyond technical skills and interest for cloud platforms, we're looking for someone who brings genuine passion and enthusiasm to their work - a team player who approaches every challenge as an opportunity to grow and is genuinely driven to make an impact together with the team. Main Activities Support Infrastructure Provisioning: Assist in Azure resource deployment and lifecycle management using Infrastructure as Code (Bicep) within a hub-and-spoke architecture, under the guidance of senior engineers Networking Basics: Learn to configure and troubleshoot Azure networking components including route tables, Virtual WAN, and application gateways AI-Assisted Diagnostics: Support the use and continuous improvement of internal AI diagnostics tools designed to enhance cloud operations, including contributing feedback, testing outputs, and helping integrate AI-driven insights into monitoring and troubleshooting workflows Pipeline Support: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of deployment pipelines with Azure DevOps (and other CI/CD tools), contributing to reliable and efficient delivery Policy & Security Awareness: Support the application of Azure policies and security best practices across subscriptions and resources Automated Documentation: Help automate and maintain clear, actionable documentation for processes, architecture, and troubleshooting guides Continuous Learning: Actively participate in process improvement discussions, automation initiatives, and the adoption of DevSecOps methodologies Knowledge And Skills Requirements Required Basic familiarity with at least one scripting language such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python Foundational understanding and strong interest for cloud concepts: scalability, high availability, and security principles Awareness of Software Development Lifecycle practices, including version control (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows Basic networking knowledge: understanding of common protocols, security layers, and communication concepts Willingness to learn Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep, ARM, or Terraform Enthusiasm for working in an Agile environment (Scrum, SAFe) using tools like Jira and Confluence Self-motivated and energetic, with a growth mindset and the passion to own topics and drive them forward as part of the team Nice to Have Any hands-on exposure to Azure cloud services and Infrastructure as Code (even through personal projects, labs, or certifications) Familiarity with CI/CD concepts or experience using Azure DevOps or similar platforms Basic awareness of AI/ML concepts and an interest in how AI-powered tools can augment cloud diagnostics, anomaly detection, and operational decision-making Basic awareness of hub-and-spoke architectures or enterprise cloud networking concepts Relevant certifications such as AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals) or AZ-104 (Azure Administrator) are a plus What You'll Gain Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade Azure cloud environments Mentorship from experienced CloudOps and DevOps professionals Exposure to real-world DevSecOps practices and CI/CD workflows A clear development path toward an experienced CloudOps role What makes us proud as an employer: Merco - Companies and Leaders with the Best Reputation in Portugal (#1 Tecnology/Manufacturing) Forbes - World's Best Employers (#1 Engineering & Manufacturing) LinkedIn - LinkedIn Top Companies (#2) OnStrategy - REPSCORE 2024: Brands' Reputation in Portugal (#1 Engineering & Electronic Services) Fortune - World's Most Admired Companies (#1 Industrial Machinery) Teamlyzer - Company with the Best Interviews (#1 Technology) #Siemens #PortugalTechHub Siemens is committed to creating a diverse environment and is glad to be an equal opportunity employer.
