Head Chef - Funchal, Portugal As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our kitchen operations in Funchal, Portugal. You will be in charge of creating and executing menus, managing kitchen staff, ordering supplies and maintaining food quality and safety standards. Your creativity, leadership skills and passion for culinary excellence will be essential in ensuring our restaurant's success. Responsibilities Develop and design menus that align with our restaurant's concept and appeal to our target audience. Lead and manage a team of chefs, cooks and kitchen assistants, providing guidance and training as needed. Ensure that all kitchen operations comply with health and safety regulations. Monitor food quality and presentation to maintain high standards. Oversee inventory management, including ordering supplies and controlling costs. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service operations. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques or ingredients into our menu offerings. Manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of fresh ingredients. Requirements Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume restaurant setting. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team. Strong knowledge of different cooking techniques, flavors, ingredients, and cultural cuisines. Creativity to design innovative menus while also accommodating dietary restrictions or food allergies. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work under pressure in a fast‐paced environment. Knowledge of food safety regulations is required; certification is a plus. Fluency in Portuguese is preferred but not required. Salary and Benefits This position offers a competitive salary of $1,400 per month. Health insurance may also be provided. Location Our restaurant is located in the beautiful city of Funchal on the island of Madeira.
