Clinical Scientist Director, Early Development Oncology

Amgen seeks a Clinical Scientist Director to lead early-phase oncology clinical development in Lisbon. The role involves translating clinical strategy into trial execution, ensuring protocol adherence, data integrity, and cross-functional collaboration while serving as a subject-matter expert for assigned therapeutic areas.
Responsibilities
- Serve as clinical and scientific subject-matter expert for assigned therapeutic area with focus on protocol execution and data integrity
- Oversee medical monitoring activities and assess subject-level clinical data to identify trends, risks, and emerging issues
- Present information internally and externally while managing problems across cross-functional teams
- Review and analyze clinical trial data for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to protocol and regulatory requirements
- Collaborate on clinical strategy translation into study protocols and ensure delivery of final protocol with governance approval
Requirements
- Doctorate degree and 4 years of life sciences/healthcare experience, or equivalent combination of advanced degree and experience
- 5 years of pharmaceutical clinical drug development experience
- Industry or academic experience in early-phase oncology drug development
- Strong written and oral communication skills for presenting scientific concepts to leadership
- Experience designing, monitoring, and implementing clinical trials compliant with Good Clinical Practice standards
- Proficiency with clinical data analysis tools such as Spotfire
- Track record of clinical trial process improvement
