Senior Tech Lead Java/Angular - Insurance & Legacy Systems

As a Senior Tech Lead Java/Angular , you will be working for our client, a prominent player in the insurance industry, dedicated to modernizing and maintaining critical legacy systems. Your expertise will drive technical excellence, ensuring scalable, reliable solutions that support the company's strategic growth and digital transformation. Your main responsibilities:

• Lead the technical design and implementation of user stories and features, ensuring alignment with standards and best practices.
• Ensure development practices such as peer reviews, automation of unit tests, and adherence to golden rules are followed within your squad.
• Cascade technical architecture decisions and priorities to squad members, providing clear guidance and oversight.
• Specify, validate, and manage technical enablers and technical debt, ensuring all components are well documented and compliant.
• Manage integration of components into CI/CD pipelines, maintaining quality and non-functional requirements.
• Support team members’ technical upskilling and promote best practices for industrialization.
• Regularly update project documentation and components’ debt scores to reflect current status.
• Maintain high-quality JIRA tickets, ensuring tasks are properly linked, updated, and tracked according to standards.
• Collaborate with teams managing legacy systems and new development initiatives to ensure seamless integration and modernization.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical lead or senior developer in Java and Angular environments.
• Proficient in Java (8, 17, 21), Angular, TypeScript, Spring Boot, REST APIs.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Experience with relational databases like Oracle 19c and Postgres.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and component integration.
• Strong understanding of agile methodologies and documentation standards.
• Proven ability to manage development teams and technical inventories effectively.

It is a strong plus if you have:

• Experience working within legacy systems in the insurance sector.
• Certifications or additional expertise in container orchestration or cloud platforms.

Language Required for the role:

• Fluent in English (written and spoken), especially for internal and external communication.
• Fluent in French (written and spoken).
