Systems Engineer - SRE

Then this opportunity is for you. We're looking for a Systems Engineer (SRE, Observability & Performance Engineering) to join a highly strategic engineering team. You'll play a key role in improving system reliability, performance, and monitoring capabilities while embedding best practices across the full delivery lifecycle. Responsibilities Design, implement, and evolve observability and monitoring platforms (Zabbix, InfluxDB, Grafana, Telegraf) Analyse complex incidents and drive structural improvements and prevention strategies Define and execute performance engineering strategies across backend systems and services Validate system behaviour under load and ensure high availability Produce performance reports and analyse key metrics and system behaviour Develop automation scripts and tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python) Analyse and optimise system performance across Windows and Linux environments Contribute to technical design for on-prem and distributed systems Support business continuity and disaster recovery strategies Collaborate with Architecture, DevOps, QA, Development, and Operations teams Automate and optimise performance testing frameworks and workflows Maintain technical documentation and promote knowledge sharing Own reliability and performance testing activities Ensure performance, availability, and reliability are considered across the full lifecycle Execute end-to-end testing across multiple teams Identify bottlenecks and optimisation opportunities Promote a culture of performance excellence and engineering quality Qualifications Strong experience with SRE practices Hands‐on experience with observability and monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana, InfluxDB or similar) Experience in performance testing and optimisation Analytical mindset with ability to interpret performance data Experience with Windows Server and Linux environments Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Firewalls) Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar) Strong problem‐solving skills and ability to work under pressure Nice to Have Experience with test automation frameworks (API, REST/SOAP, distributed systems) Tools like SoapUI or similar Experience in Agile environments Kubernetes / cloud‐native environments Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible) Virtualisation tools (VMware, Hyper‐V) Observability tools (Prometheus, Datadog) System security practices (hardening, patching, access control) Benefits Location: Taguspark – Lisboa Work model: Hybrid (3 days per week in the office) Salary: 55,000€- €65,000 gross/year (depending on experience) + meal allowance + benefits Direct contract with end client (no outsourcing) Strong work‐life balance culture Collaborative and multicultural environment Continuous training and development Attractive compensation package Profit‐sharing opportunities Private healthcare plan (extendable to family) #J-18808-Ljbffr
