Continuous Improvement Engineer + Talento Internship

Ateliers du Portugal, is part of one of the largest international luxury groups. At ATEPELI we are dedicated to the production of exclusive leather goods and footwear components. Currently, we have 3 workshops in the north of Portugal, more specifically, in Ponte de Lima, Penafiel and Santa Maria da Feira. We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Trainee to join our team, supporting initiatives that enhance production efficiency and operational excellence within a Maison where heritage, craftsmanship, and innovation come together in the creation of luxury leather goods. In an environment where every detail matters and savoir-faire is expressed through both artisanal mastery and industrial precision, this internship offers the opportunity to discover the full production cycle of our products while contributing to the continuous refinement of our manufacturing processes. Working closely with the teams, you will gain hands‐on exposure to lean methodologies and improvement initiatives that help shape the excellence behind each creation. As part of our Continuous Improvement team, you will: Responsibilities Discover the product production cycle and the unique specificities of the industry by closely supporting experienced professionals. Contribute to the identification of improvement opportunities, learning how lean tools and methodologies can enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Support continuous improvement initiatives alongside cross‐functional teams, assisting in the definition and follow‐up of action plans. Collaborate in the creation of procedures and support materials that help strengthen best practices across production. Assist in the optimization of production flows, operating methods, and line organization, contributing to a more efficient and structured environment. Take part in improvement projects, including layout adjustments, while supporting compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards. Qualifications Hold a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Product Development Engineering, or a related field. Are proactive, dynamic, and comfortable in environments shaped by change and continuous evolution. Have a strong team spirit and a results‐oriented mindset. Show interest in continuous improvement and operational excellence. Have knowledge of lean tools and methodologies. This position will remain open until filled.
