Industrial Engineer

We are looking for an Industrial Engineer (Associate to Senior profile depending on experience) to join the FedEx Global Air Network Planning & Engineering department. This organization is responsible for designing and continuously improving a network of flights, both Intra-Europe as well as Intercontinental. 

Within this organization, the Demand and Capacity Management (DCM) team manages the air network capacity. It focuses on using the existing space or creating incremental space to support customer demand. 

In this role you will:

• Manage the air network capacity, which is done by analyzing load factors and identifying patterns using FedEx specific DCM tools
• Provide frequent recommendations to key stakeholders regarding capacity management, including senior management
• Map processes and create documentation/work instructions
• Align with cross-functional partners (e.g. other Planning & Engineering teams and Marketing)
• Create PowerBi dashboards and/or participate in the automation of activities
• Collaborate (and lead) cross-functional and cross-regional projects with the purpose of optimizing the air network (e.g. projects which aim to improve the forecast or the creation of capacity levers to improve aircraft utilization)

Ideal candidate :

• University degree, preferably in Engineering or relevant scientific disciplines
• Result oriented and takes ownership of DCM planning
• Ability to work in a high pressure and fast paced environment with demanding stakeholders
• Very good analytical planning & organizing skills
• Very flexible and adaptable to changing environments
• Strong team spirit
• Accuracy & attention to detail
• Presentation skills
• Excellent knowledge of English is a must (working language)
• Analytical thinker with a creative and pragmatic approach to problem solving
• Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively throughout various functional groups and hierarchical levels
• Proficient use of Office applications: Word, Excel & PowerPoint
