This position is for Stadler Digital Labs, a joint venture between Stadler Rail and Critical Software serving as the digital competence center for the Stadler Group.

Could you be the AI Solution Designer that we've been looking for?

Key Responsibilities

• Design AI-related solutions for specific applications, projects, and products in close collaboration with business stakeholders and technology teams.
• Clarify business needs, functional requirements, constraints, and success criteria to define what the solution should look like.
• Create solution architecture concepts, target designs, integration views, and decision documentation for AI use cases and digital solutions.
• Ensure architecture quality, business fit, scalability, maintainability, security, compliance, and operational readiness of proposed solutions.
• Work closely with business representatives, product owners, architects, developers, cybersecurity, data protection, and platform teams.
• Support solution-specific selection of technologies, platforms, AI services, integration patterns, and reusable components.
• Support AI pilots, innovation activities, and solution assessments from an architecture and business-fit perspective.
• Contribute to architecture principles, solution templates, documentation standards, and knowledge sharing for AI solution architecture.
• Participate in architecture, security, data protection, and governance reviews for AI use cases and related digital solutions.
• Help identify dependencies, risks, assumptions, and trade-offs during solution design and project delivery.
• Stay up to date with developments in AI technologies, solution architecture methods, cloud services, integration approaches, and relevant regulatory requirements

Which brings us to you, the person with:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Informatics, Engineering, or comparable professional experience.
• 3 years of experience in AI solution architecture, application design, product development, project delivery, business analysis, or comparable roles. · Ability to translate business needs into solution designs that combine business value, technical feasibility, usability, security, and scalability.
• Experience working with business stakeholders, product owners, project teams, architects, developers, and technology providers.
• Exposure to GenAI/LLM-based or agentic AI solutions is an advantage Further Education:
• Further training in AI solution architecture, enterprise architecture methods, cloud platforms, AI technologies, agile delivery, business analysis, or product management is an advantage.
• Willingness to continuously develop knowledge in AI solution design, governance, integration patterns, data protection, and architecture quality.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to define what a solution should look like for a specific application, project, or product context.
• Good understanding of both business processes and technology capabilities, with a focus on architecture quality and business fit.
• Ability to support solution-specific technology selection and make architecture decisions transparent and well documented.
• Solid understanding of GenAI/LLM capabilities and limitations, agentic AI patterns (multi-agent orchestration, tool use, autonomous workflows), and responsible AI considerations (governance, data protection, bias, explainability, human oversight).
• Good communication and collaboration skills with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and delivery teams.
• Fluent English; German or further Stadler languages are an advantage
