Winthrop Technologies is a dedicated data centre delivery partner providing turnkey solutions to our clients, headquartered in Dublin and delivering throughout Europe.
We are currently constructing multiple turnkey data centre projects in 7 different European countries, equating to over 430 MW of IT load in flight.
We are pleased to announce that we are currently seeking a MEP Lead to join our team in Sines, Portugal . The MEP Lead will be responsible for managing and coordinating all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing activities across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate MEP services across design, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Manage and support the MEP project team, including subcontractors, engineers, and supervisors.
- Oversee technical reviews, quality checks, and progress reporting.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and company procedures.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment
- Review and approve MEP design documentation, technical submittals, and method statements.
- Identify and resolve design or construction issues to maintain project momentum.
- Drive commissioning readiness and ensure smooth handover of MEP systems.
- Support project planning, forecasting, and progress tracking to achieve project milestones.
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline).
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in large-scale construction or data centre projects, with a strong MEP focus.
- Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of design coordination, MEP systems, and installation methodologies.
- Experience with data centre, industrial, or mission-critical projects is highly desirable.
