Mechanical buyer & Cost Analyst

Mission of the Role Collaborate with cross functional teams including Quotation Core team, Product Line and PD for competitive mechanical costing input during pursuits stage. Key Accountabilities On Time Cost Delivery & Accuracy On-time cost delivery with the required specification based on market nuances and serial production pricing, with the capability to deal with ambiguity during RFx stage when spec is not fully finalized. Conduct workshops to ensure the competitiveness delivered with not limited to competitors benchmark, market test, VAVEs to cultivate an outward‐in approach for the outcome. Drive early engagement by involving all cross‐function teams to meet at a competitive material target with a bottom‐up focused approach. Cost Control & Competitiveness Aggressively participating supplier cost structure review to drive improved commoditization and enhanced understanding of market influencers on end item pricing. Develop cost/quote modeling for key sub‐category based on product needs, engage with supplier technology roadmaps to drive design‐to‐cost/design‐to‐value approach for product offering. Review and negotiate supplier quotes against pricing trends/benchmarks/cost models and drive the purchasing commitment with TCO mindset in place. Encourage supplier competition to improve technology sharing and influence supplier future design definition during the quote offering stage. Key Performance Indicators On‐Time Quote delivery Competitive material cost upon quote submission with the integrated cost detail supported. Demonstrate round‐to‐round improvement with specific cost analysis/walk in place. Cost Model & Should Cost Analysis for key sub‐category. Key Year One Deliverables On‐time quote submission with optimized integrity percentage of total cost delivered Positive cost revolution trend for high impacted parts during critical pursuits PPV rate delivered for all NBWs during the transition. Qualifications, Experience and Skills 7-10 years working experience and 5+ years procurement working experience in automotive industry with bachelor above degree, major in mechanical/costing is a plus. Strong data consolidation capability with experienced analytical skillsets for cost modeling and reporting. Detail Oriented: capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done. Self‐motivated, good team player and able to handle stress and willing to work in global organization structure. Strong communication with fluent English in both written and speaking.
