Data Engineer

Location: Lisbon, Portugal Languages: English (B2-C1) - french is a plus Work model: 4 days in the office Eligibility: Currently living in Portugal and be legally authorized to work there We are looking for a Data Engineer to join a client in the financial services industry . You will be part of an Agile Scrum team, working on cloud‐native data pipelines and solutions to support critical business objectives. Your Profile Degree in Engineering or related discipline Proven experience building data pipelines and managing data on AWS (S3, ECS, Lambda, RDS, SNS/SQS, IAM, CloudWatch) Strong skills in SQL, including complex queries and analytical database programming Proficient in Python and data libraries such as Pandas and Boto3 Solid understanding of data platform architecture, governance, and metadata management Experience with Snowflake development is a plus Familiarity with CI/CD, orchestration tools (Step Function, Airflow, Prefect), and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) is valued Knowledge of data visualization tools like Tableau is an advantage AWS and Snowflake certifications are preferred Agile mindset, strong analytical and problem‐solving skills, detail‐oriented, and a collaborative team player Fluent in English (French is a plus) Technical Environment Data Platforms: Snowflake, relational and graph databases Programming: Python (Pandas, Boto3), SQL (DBT core a plus) Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation Version Control & Tools: GitHub/GitLab, Jira What You Will Be Doing Develop and maintain cloud‐native data pipelines handling batch and streaming data Architect high‐performance data solutions supporting business and analytics needs Manage large and complex datasets, ensuring quality through functional and non‐functional testing Design and optimize data models and queries for performance and scalability Collaborate with cross‐functional teams, supporting production, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement Ensure data governance through metadata cataloguing and compliance Why Join Us?
