Country Manager Portugal (M/F/NB)

Role : 


We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Country Manager to lead our operations in Portugal. In this role, you will drive business growth, ensure operational efficiency, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Iberian market. You’ll be at the forefront of our commercial activities, including sales, business development, and public affairs, while also nurturing our local team and contributing to our global strategy.

This is a hands-on, multifaceted role that requires a deep understanding of our company, products, and the power generation market. You will be based at our Portuguese entity in Viana do Castelo, with regular interaction with our headquarters in Stockholm. As the Country Manager for Portugal, you will be an integral part of CorPower Ocean’s Commercial team.

Responsibilities :

• Financial and legal responsibility for the Portuguese operations of CorPower Ocean Lda

• Be an active part of defining and executing the commercial strategy of CorPower Ocean

• Work closely with the global leadership team to align country strategies with overall company objectives.

• Develop our sales pipeline and partnerships in the Iberian market.

• Manage our public affairs, nurturing our relationship with policy makers & authorities in Iberia.

• Ensure clear communication with project stakeholders, suppliers and authorities

• Ensure our Portuguese operations comply with company policy, including HSQE, and that necessary permits are secured to execute projects on plan with proper risk management.

• Developing and implementing our business plan, including managing of budgets. 

• Support Accounting, People (HR), Supply-chain, Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations teams in their hiring, team management and project execution in Portugal.

• Proactively contribute to the competitiveness of our offering and commercial success of our business

• Team spirit: lead by example, inspire our team, and drive a culture of excellence

• Ensure clear communication and strong collaboration between our teams across CorPower sites, including Sweden, Portugal, Ireland, UK and Norway.

• Represent CorPower Ocean at industry conferences, fairs and seminars and support external communications and media contacts.

• Support reporting to public and private financers

• Lead by example and represent the CorPower Ocean company culture

Skills and qualifications :

You have a passionate entrepreneurial mindset with a solid background in business development. Experience in developing and leading advanced technology organizations is qualifying. You are communicative and people oriented with a proven track record in attracting and nurturing top talents from a global recruitment base. Experience from relevant industrial operations (e.g. power generation, composites manufacturing, offshore or advanced machinery) is qualifying. Experience from managing advanced industrial and technical projects involving public funding bodies and private investors is qualifying. You are proficient in English and Portuguese, written and spoken. Good problem-solving and strategic thinking skills. A strong commitment to accountability, collaboration, and execution.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in management, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the Iberian power market. You will be expected to lead by example, inspire our team, and drive a culture of excellence.
